The Wellsboro Volleyball teams rebounded from their loss to rival North Penn-Liberty to sweep Athens in a Pink Out game on Thursday, October 5.
Wellsboro honored the memory of Chuck Tameris with his wife, daughter, and granddaughter in attendance (pictured above).
The Lady Hornets started out winning the first set 25-9 and followed up the second set with a 25-4 win. Wellsboro completed the 3-set sweep by winning 25-18.
Freshman Blake Eckart led the Lady Hornets with 17 points (5 aces) and 3 kills, senior Natalie Cleveland recorded 11 digs and 11 points (2 aces), and sophomore Taylor Main made 6 assists.
Senior Meredith Brownlee added 3 kills and junior Arianah Lawton had 5 assists.
Wellsboro's JV team also scored a 2-0 sweep, winning 25-23 & 25-21, to improve to 10-4 on the year.
The Varsity team improves to 9-6 overall (7-3 NTL Large School Division).
