MONTGOMERY - Athens shattered a school record on its way to the team title at District 4, Class AAA Golf championships here Tuesday at White Deer Golf Club.
The Wildcats shot a four-player aggregate score of 306, eclipsing the mark of 317 they set earlier this season, and bested runner-up Jersey Shore by 13 strokes, and third-place Selinsgrove by 15 shots.
"These were fantastic scores on a day we had rain throughout the entire day," said Athens coach Lenny Pientka. "Honestly, I do not know how they could even hold on to the club."
