After a back and forth start Troy pulled away for a historically big win over Sayre, 84-12, during NTL football action.
The Trojans led 42-12 after the first quarter, and scored 77 straight points from the mid first quarter on.
Evan Woodward had four carries for 138 yards and two touchdowns, while going 5-for-6 for 181 yards and three scores from the pocket. Lincoln Chimics was his big target, with three catches for 145 yards and a score.
Brendon Gilliland had three carries for 36 yards and two touchdowns as Evan Allen, James Roy, and Spencer Martin all scored touchdowns.
Gavin Lyon-Leffler went 12-for-12 in extra points for the Trojans.
Sayre opened the game with an 84-yard kick-off return for a touchdown to go up 6-0. Troy responded less than a minute later on a Gilliland 23-yard scoring runs to take a 7-6 lead.
Sayre got a long passing touchdown from Nick Pellicano to retake the lead 12-7 with 9:31 on the clock, but it was all Trojans after that.
Troy scored five straight touchdowns in less than eight minutes to end the first quarter: an 8-yard Gilliland run, a 35-yard pick six from Mason Smith, a 32-yard touchdown from Woodward to Joseph Frye, a 55-yard scoring strike from Woodward to Chimics, and a 57-yard passing touchdown of Woodward to Chimics.
In the second quarter Woodward had a 56-yard run, followed by a Jayden Kutt 18-yard scoring run. Mason Smith returned a 60-yard punt to pay dirt to end the half.
Roy scored the lone third quarter touchdown for the Trojans, while in the fourth Martin had a 15-yard touchdown run, and Allen had a 25-yard run.
