Troy dropped an NTL dual match to Athens, 45-30, on Thursday.

The match went quick with six forfeits, and six falls, as just one bout went the distance.

Athens jumped out to a 22-6 lead after the first five weights, but Troy roared back, scoring 24 straight points to take a 30-22 lead.

The Wildcats, though, won the final four bouts to take the dual meet win.

After Athens got a fall at 145 Troy’s Carter Austin (152) scored a fall of his own to knot the score up at 6-all.

Athens got falls at 160, and 189, while at 172 Brendan Cooke scored a 12-4 major decision over Troy's Rylan Breidt.

Kael Millard (215) started the Troy rally with a fall, followed by Reed Palmer (285), Garret Parks (107), and Connor Dibble (114) all scoring forfeits.

Down 30-22 the Wildcats reclaimed the lead with forfeits at 121, and 127, then got falls at 133, and 139 to secure the win.

Troy will travel to Elmira this weekend for their Memorial Tournament.
