Canton used a 6-run fifth inning to pull away from Sayre, 10-1 in six innings, for an NTL baseball win Tuesday.

The Warriors scored one in the first, then added two more in the third to take a 3-0 lead. Their 6-run fifth made it 9-0, while the two teams each had a run in the sixth inning.

Trapper Burr (3-for-4) and Daniel Inman (3-for-4) both had strong days as the plate, with Burr scoring a run, and driving one in, while Inman had 2-RBI.

Bailey Gardner (2-for-4) had a double with 2-RBI and two runs scored, as Isaiah Colton (2-for-2) had a double with 3-RBI and a run scored.

Owen Moore (1-for-1) had a double with a run scored, and an RBI, as Reed Taylor scored twice and drove in a run.

Lucas Crawley (1-for-3) also scored, as Carson Castle (1-for-4) had a hit.

Inman started, and went five innings with eight strikeouts, one walk, and two hits, with Grant Jennings going one-third of an inning with one strikeout, three walks, one hit, and one earned run.

Burr led off the game with a hit, then scored on a Taylor sacrifice fly for the 1-0 lead.

In the third Gardner led off with a hit, followed by Taylor reaching on a dropped third strike. Inman would single in both for the 3-0 lead.

Then, in the fifth, Canton loaded the bases with no outs as Taylor was hit by a pitch, Inman singled, and Crawley drew a walk.

After an out Colton singled in Taylor and courtesy runner Brayden Tucker to make it 5-0. After a second out Moore would double in Crawley, then Burr singled in Colton for a 7-0 lead.

A Gardner double would drive in Moore and Burr to make it 9-0.

Canton's final run came in the sixth as a Colton double drove in Crawley.

Canton (3-5) will host CV on Thursday.
