Hornets Edge Out Jersey Shore, Score Pair Of Non-League Wins At Tyoga

The Wellsboro Golf team scored two non-league wins over Jersey Shore and Cowanesque Valley Wednesday afternoon at Tyoga Golf Course.

The Hornets edged Jersey Shore by a stroke, 161-162, with CV taking 3rd with a combined score of 179.

Wellsboro placed three golfers in the top six with senior Syler Pietrzyk leading the way with a 35. Junior Chase Schultz shot a 40, and freshman Jackson Largey carded a 41. Sophomore Benjamin Jackson and sophomore Samuel Jackson shot rounds of 45 and 47, respectively, and sophomore Case Butler also added a round of 47.

The Hornets improve to 21-9 (19-9 NTL) and travel to Belles Springs Golf Course to take on the Bulldogs next Wednesday.
