Hornets Score 7 First-Half Goals Against Troy

Sophomore's Maddon Mascho and Liam Stevens each had two-goal games as the Wellsboro Varsity Soccer team shutout Troy, 7-0, Tuesday night before being rained out.

All seven of Wellsboro's goals came in the first half before the game was called with 30 minutes remaining in the second half.

So far through two games junior Camden Bryant has yet to allow a goal, while the Hornet offense has outscored their opponents, 18-0.

Senior Mason Brill kicked off the scoring 10 minutes into the game off a Stevens assist, followed by Mascho's first goal with 20:01 left, assisted by junior Gabe Cuneo. Mascho later assisted freshman Callen Novak to make it a 3-0 game with with 18:14 left to play. Junior Fen Moyer scored unassisted with 11:55 to go, then Mascho scored his second goal to make it 5-0 with 11:43 left to play.

Stevens scored the Hornets' final two goals of the half, both assisted by Cuneo, with under six minutes to play.

Wellsboro took 23 shots on goal, with 5 corner kicks, while holding the Trojans scoreless.

The Hornets (2-0, 2-0 NTL) are back in action Thursday at Towanda.
