Hornets Take 1st In Tri-Match At River Valley

Senior Syler Pietrzyk shot a round of 38 to help lead the Wellsboro Golf team Tuesday afternoon at River Valley Country Club.

The Hornets finished 1st overall with a combined round of 160 to edge out Towanda (162) and Cowanesque Valley (167).

Finishing behind was sophomore Benjamin Jackson with a 39. Freshman Jackson Largey carded a 41, junior Chase Schultz and sophomore Case Butler both shot rounds of 42, and sophomore Samuel Jackson rounded out the team with 49.

Wellsboro moves to 17-7 (17-7 NTL) on the season, and travels to Belles Springs Golf Course for a non-league match with Jersey Shore on Thursday.
