NEB Boys, Girls Top Canton

NEB boys and girls cross-country defeated Canton on their new course during NTL action Tuesday.

The boys won 18-46 while the girls came out on top 15-50.

NEB's Jackson Martin (16:56.7) took the top spot and set the record for the new course in the boys' race, with teammate Levi Dewing (18:21.1) holding off Canton's Manual Halbfoerster (18:22.8) for second.

NEB's Xavier Lockwood (18:52.7), Keagan Netherton (19:29.9), and Josiah Russell (19:55.9) took the next five spots to round out their scorers.

Landon Lake (20:13.8) was eighth for Canton with Ryan Inman (22:41.1) in 10th, and Kobi Hoover (25:01.5) taking 12th.

On the girls' side NEB's Sophie Bennett (21:51.8) set the girls' record for the new course, with teammate Julia Laudermilch (22:11.6) in second.

Ruth Laudermilch (22:51.7) and Charlotte Martin (23:04.7) were third and fourth.

Canton's Elizabeth Halbfoerster (24:23.5) rounded out the top five, with teammate Sarina Hess (27:15.2) taking sixth.

NEB's Bella Russell (27:24.9) rounded out their scorers in seventh.

In junior high action both NEB teams won 15-50 over Canton.

Zebulan Laudermilch (11:09.7) won the boys race and set the new course record for them.

Rory Manning (13:25.5) won the girls race to set the new course record.
