Wellsboro defeated Cowanesque Thursday night in Wellsboro, 3-0. Wellsboro won the 3 games 25-18, 25-13, and 25-9 to improve their record on the 2011 season to 5-4 overall. Junior Hannah Zuchowski led the Hornets in kills (20), service points (19), and digs (8). Senior Tarah Doty contributed 7 digs and Junior Mackenzie Marple added 15 assists.
In JV action, the Hornets suffered their first defeat on the season as they lost 22-25, 25-13, and 8-15. The Hornets will be back in action Saturday, October 1 as they host the Wyalusing Rams. Game time is set for 6:0 p.m.
