Hornets drop Mansfield in 4 games

The girls voleyball team opened up the 2011 NTL season by downing rival Mansfield, 3-1. The girls won the first and second matches 26-24, and 26-24. Mansfield rebouded to win the third match 17-25, but Wellsboro turned it on in the fourth game to win 25-23. Hannah Zuchowski had 22 kills and Tarah Doty added in 4 more for the Hornets. Breyann Campbell and Mackenzie Marple each recorded 9 service points with 1 ace.
In JV action, the Hornets defeated Mansfield in two games. Wellsboro will be in action tomorrow night, September 13, as they travel to Westfield to take on the Cowanesque Valley Indians.
