The Wellsboro girls and boys track teams took home first and second place today in the Molly Dry Invite at Mansfield University.
For the girls team, Senior Taylor Acorn had an outstanding day as she took home first place finishes in the 100m dash and the 200m dash with times of 12.66 and 26.76, respectively. Acorn would also receive athlete of the meet honors.
Senior Mikayla Palmer-Bacon finished 5th overall in the 100m dash with a time of 13.26. Lauren Bleggi also placed second in the 200m dash with a time of 27.79.
In the 400m run, Senior Raina Rogers captured the top spot with a time of 1:00.69. Rounding out the first place finishes for the Hornets was the 4x800m running a time of 11:41.85 and Junior Sarah Kramer in the pole vault with a height of 8' 0".
Other top performances for Wellsboro included Marina Garrison with a fifth place finish in the 800m run, Charlotte Worthington and Randi Grim, fourth and fifth, in the 3200m run, Junior Mackenzie Marple with a second place finish in the 100m hurdles and a fifth place finish in the 300m hurdles, and a second place finish in the 4x100m relay.
The team will be back in action on Tuesday, April 17, as they host North Penn.
