The Wellsboro girls track team picked up their second win of the 2012 season as they defeated Towanda on Tuesday night, 85-64. Mackenzie Marple took the top spot in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.29 and Mikayla Palmer-Bacon and Lauren Bleggi took the top two spots in the 100m dash with times of 13.48 and 13.75, respectively.
Senior Sherri Hovis took the top spot in the shot put with a throw of 28' 2" and backed up that performance by finishing third in the discus with a throw of 65' 2". Marple took the top spot in the javelin with a throw of 96' to round out the throwing events.
Raina Rogers won the 300m hurdles with a time of 52.09 and Freshman Ashley Johns finished right behind in with a time of 1:03.29.
In the 200m dash, Senior Taylor Acorn and Bleggi took the top two spots with times of 27.09 and 29.01, respectively. In the 3200m run, the Hornets swept the top two spots as Charlotte Worthington won with a time of 13:16.77, followed by Randi Grim in 13:20.06.
The team will be back in action this Saturday, April 14, as they compete in the Molly Dry Invite.
