The Wellsboro Varsity wrestling team started the 2012 season with a 57-16 loss to the Canton Warriors.
The Hornets picked up 3 wins on the evening, with the first coming from Junior Nate Ingerick. Ingerick pinned Dylan Marbaker in 3:05 in the 132 lb. weight class to pick up his first win of the season. The Hornets other wins came from Junior Brandon Owlett in a 9-0 major decision at 145 lbs. and by Senior Eli Kennedy pinning Brady Bryington in 3:01 at 285 lbs.
In Middle School action, the Hornets picked up a 36-31 victory to start their season 1-0.
With the loss, the Varsity team falls to 1-0 on the year and will be back in action this Saturday at the Mount Carmel Tournament.
