In their final game of the regular season, the Wellsboro Lady Hornets out-hustled North Penn, beating them by a score of 56-32.
"It felt good from the beginning," said coach Mary Grab. The girls were playing hard, hustling on defense and keeping pressure on. They did a great job on the boards, especially Andrea Dean (13), and Hannah Zuchowski (10). We missed a lot of lay ups; I'd like to see an improvement in that area," continued Grab.
Leading all scorers with 13 points was Raina Rogers, followed by Kimberly Acorn, and Dean with 10 points apiece.
"Andrea posted a nice double-double tonight, and put in a solid effort. Overall I was pleased by the effort everyone put in tonight. Every last girl played and everyone gave it their best."
With the win, the Hornets close out regular season play on a three game winning streak and improve their record to 11-10 (9-3 NTL West).
In JV action, the Hornets lost a close one to North Penn by a score of 43-39. Jordan Butters led Wellsboro scorers with 11 points while Paige Carr and Jessie Catherman hit for 8 points each. Butters and Carr combined for 13 rebounds.
