The Lady Hornets varsity basketball team fell to a record of 7-5 this evening, losing to Sayre by a score of 48-29. Raina Rogers and Mackenzie Marple each contributed 10 points and Andrea Dean led in the rebounding category with 7.
"The girls played hard, there was no doubt about that," commented coach Mary Grab. "Sayre played tremendous defense and kept us on our heels and out of our rhythm for much of the game, and their outside shooters were on fire! I was pleased that despite the constant pressure throughout the game, our players remained composed and played hard," said Grab. "We meet Athens tomorrow night over there: another tough game and another late night."
The Junior Varsity girls came away with a win over Sayre by a score of 24-18. Jordan Butters lead scoring with 14 points and pulled in three rebounds. Camilla Sossi grabbed 6 rebounds in her best game yet of this season.
