Hornet volleyball tops Athens

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team snapped their losing streak with a 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-15, 25-9) over Athens Thursday night.
Junior Jordan Butters led the team with 3 kills, Senior Alex Kurtz had 5 assists, 17 points, and 4 aces, and Senior Katie Straniere had 16 digs. Junior Peyton Wilson also had 10 points on the night.
In the J.V. game, the Lady Hornets won 2-0 (25-5, 25-9) to improve to 8-1.
With the win, the Varsity team imrproves to 5-4 (1-4 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 1 as they host Troy.
