The Wellsboro Varsity wrestling team dropped a league match to Troy Thursday night, 48-21.
Four Hornets won on the night. Junior Nate Ingerick picked up a pin at 126 lbs. over Jared Spalding in 1:51, Sophomore Jack Chambers pinned Ross Sherman in 4:25 at 160 lbs., Senior Chad Daugherty pinned Briar Jenkins in 1:29 at 195 lbs., and Senior Eli Kennedy won by a 4-0 decision at 220 lbs. over Skyler Drake.
In Middle School action, the Hornets picked up their second win of the season by defeating Troy, 42-15.
With the loss, the Hornets fall to 0-3 (0-2 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Friday, January 4 as they host Lewisburg.
