The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team picked up their third win in a row as they shut out Towanda 2-0 on Thursday, October 9.
The Lady Hornets scored their first goal in the 13th minute as Junior Jenny Young scored off an assist from Junior Sarah Ingerick to take a 1-0 lead. Then, in the 46th minute Ingerick scored the game-winning goal to give Wellsboro the 2-0 NTL victory.
Wellsboro took 27 shots as a team compared to seven from Towanda and had five corner kicks on the night. Freshman Kailee Clymer earned the win as she stopped three shots in goal.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 9-5-1 (9-4-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 14 as they host Williamson on Senior Night.
