The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Cross Country team took home 2nd place at the NTL Coaches Meet at Northeast Bradford on Saturday, October 11.
The Varsity girls scored 60 points as a team to finish behind Northeast Bradford and ahead of third place Mansfield. Freshman Anna Bleggi was the top finisher for the girls in 3rd place with a time of 20:59, her best of the year. Junior Camryn Keane was 10th (22:14), Junior Jordyn Coffee was 11th (22:22), Senior Annie Sweeney was 15th (22:34), Junior Samantha Bailey was 21st (23:16), and Senior Caitlynn Butler was 33rd (24:30).
In the boys race, the Hornets finished 8th with 161 team points. Sophomore Bryon Callahan was 25th (19:21), Sophomore Alden Weiner was 26th (19:25), Sophomore Joey Messmer was 29th (19:35), Freshman Connor Brought was 36th (20:16), Freshman Kyle Wilson was 45th (20:46), Senior Dalton Messmer was 54th (21:58), and Freshman Logan Morral was 56th (24:33).
In the Middle School race, Aidan Perry won for the boys in 9:58 and Jaime Palmer finished 8th (13:06) as the girls finished 3rd overall with 74 points.
The Varsity teams will be back in action on Tuesday, October 14 as they travel to Jersey Shore.
