Hornet track teams compete at Jack Roddick Invite

The Wellsboro Varsity boys and girls track teams competed at the 88th Jack Roddick Inivte at Shippensburg University on Saturday, April 19.

The boys finished in 20th place with 16 points while the girls finished 7th with 29.5 points.

For the boys, Senior Dan Brooks finished 5th in the 100m run (11.53) and 7th in the 200m (23.74). Senior Joey Doganiero was 4th in the 400m (51.84), Junior Jack Chambers was 17th in the 300m hurdles (47.8), the 4x100m realy team of Dan Brooks, Senior Jermain Brooks, and Juniors Nick Marple and Michael Pietropola were 7th (47.1), and the 4x400m relay team of Jermain Brooks, Chambers, Doganiero, and Junior Kieron Smethers were 7th (3:41.81).

Pietropola finished 12th in the long jump (18' 4.75"), Senior Blake Gamble was 8th in the shot put (41' 11"), and Marple was 11th in the javelin (144' 10").

For the girls, Sophomore Jada Jackson was 7th in the 100m (13.04) and Junior Lauren Bleggi was 12th (13.45), Bleggi was 8th in the 200m (27.34), Jackson was 4th in the 400m (1:02.68), Sophomore Haley Zuchowski was 8th in the 100m hurdles (17.65) and 10th in the 300m hurdles (50.91).

The 4x100m realy team of Bleggi and Sophomores Emma Eccher, Lindsey Graver, and Raisa Rogers were 5th (52.64) and the 4x400m team of Bleggi, Graver, Jackson, and Rogers were 5th (4:20.32).

Rogers tied for fourth in the high jump (5' 00") and Senior Kaelyn Keane tied for 10th (4' 8"), Graver was 12 in the long jump (14' 7.25") and Keane was 14th (13' 9.75"), Jackson was 3rd in the triple jump (35' 11.5"), and Keane was 7th in the javelin at 98' 2".

Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday, April 22 as they face Athens and Canton.
