Sophomore Sarah Ingerick went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double and five RBI to lead the Wellsboro Varsity softball team past Liberty on Wednesday, April 16.
Sophomore Alexa Singer and Senior Brooke Kohler combined on a three-hitter, striking out nine on the mound. Singer added a home run in the game and Kohler had two hits.
Junior Paige Carr had two hits and two RBI's and Senior Maggie Smith had two hits and an RBI.
In the JV game, Wellsboro won 9-6 to improve to 1-1 on the year.
The win brings the Varsity team's record to 5-1 (1-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Saturday, April 19 as they host Canton.
