The Wellsboro Middle School boys basketball team took home a third place finish at the Wyalusing Tournament on Saturday.
The Hornets defeated Towanda 46-18 in game one, but lost to Athens 52-35 to be moved to the losers bracket. Wellsboro bounced back in game three as they beat Sayre 41-29 before defeated the host Rams in the final game 52-42 for third place.
"I'm proud of the boys today," said head coach Ed Hamm. "The played hard all day and didn't hang their heads and bounced back after a tough loss to Athens."
The Hornets are now 8-3 and will be back in action on Wednesday, March 12 as they travel to Mansfield.
