The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Lakeland on Saturday, September 26.
Two of Lakeland's goals came in the opening half. Taylor Flynn scored with 16:49 on the clock and Maria Good later scored at 31:30 to make it 2-0 at halftime. In the second half, Lakeland added their third goal on a kick by Sam Calichino.
Sophomore Kailee Clymer recorded 10 saves in goal. Lakeland edged the Lady Hornets 3-1 in corner kicks, and Wellsboro attempted 16 shots to Lakeland's 10.
Wellsboro won the JV game 1-0 on a goal by freshman Ellie Marcias to improve to 2-4.
The loss drops the Varsity team's record to 3-3-1 (2-2-1 NTL). The team will return to action on Tuesday, September 29 as they host Williamson.
