The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team rebounded after a tough loss on Tuesday to beat Williamson 47-33 on Thursday, January 15.
Junior Sarah Ingerick scored all six of her points in the first quarter as Wellsboro jumped out to a 13-5 lead. The girls would extend their lead to 19-11 at halftime.
The Lady Hornets would outscore Williamson 28-22 in the second half to claim the victory. Senior Jordan Butters led the team with 10 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Janessa Davis scored eight points, all in the fourth quarter, Freshman Rachael Tuttle and Junior Alexa Singer scored six points each, Junior Raisa Rogers and Sophomore Jessica Grab had four points each, and Peyton Wilson scored three points.
In the JV game, the Lady Hornets won 33-27 to improve to 7-2. Sophomore Autum Kitajima led the team with 12 points.
With the win, the Varsity team improves to 7-5 (2-2 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Saturday, January 17 as they travel to Northeast Bradford.
