The Wellsboro Cross Country teams had strong showings at the Altoona Invite on Saturday, September 17.
The boys team took home 8th place out of 24 teams with a team score of 190, while the girls finished 11th out of 20 teams with 273 points.
In the boys race, sophomore Aidan Perry was the top finisher in 13th place with a time of 17:58. Junior Connor Brought (18:18) was 22nd, senior Alden Weiner (19:09) was 39th, sophomore Bergen Weiner (19:43) was 61st, freshman Austin Richards (19:45) was 64th, junior Michael Stefanowicz (20:15) was 78th, senior Bryon Callahan (21:05) was 103rd, and sophomore Zack Busch (21:30) was 112th.
Freshman Kayla Mengee (23:01) was the top finisher for the Lady Hornets in 40th, junior Anna Bleggi (23:10) was 42nd, freshman Jaime Palmer (23:51) was 52nd, sophomore Rachel Chamberlain (25:16) was 80th, freshman Kylie Butler (26:10) was 94th, sophomore Kara Doane (26:17) was 96th, and freshman Maddie Mann (28:22) was 120th.
In the Middle School race both the boys (101) and girls (103) finished in 5th place. Aislinn Hoose (12:20) and Hope Sampson (13:45) were the top two girls runners and Connor Owlett (10:49) and Cameron Campbell (10:51) were the top two boys runners.
Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday, September 20 for a tri-meet with Northeast Bradford and Troy.
