The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team's problems continued as they lost 4-0 to Sayre on Monday, September 12 for their third straight loss.
Sayre got an early goal from Chloe Tracy to make it 1-0 with 30:15 remaining in the first half. The score remained 1-0 until just two minutes into the second half when Kate Cron scored to make it 2-0. Cron scored her second goal of the game to make it 3-0 with 19:09 left in the game, then Tracy added the game's final goal with 4:45 left on the clock.
Sayre took 20 shots on goal and held the Lady Hornets to just 4 shots on goal. Wellsboro edged Sayre 3-1 in corner kicks.
Junior Kailee Clymer made 16 saves in goal during the game. Sophomores Kabrie Karschner, Julia Smith, and Emma Poirier (2) made all of the Lady Hornets' shots on goal.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets' record to 0-3 (0-2 NTL). The team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 14 in Wyalusing.
