The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team had their five game win streak snapped in a 3-0 loss to Sayre on Tuesday, October 4.
Sayre controlled the first set 25-12, but the Lady Hornets battled back in the second and third sets, but couldn't complete the comeback as they lost 30-28 and 25-22.
Junior Sydney Tremper and senior Morgan Florio had 15 and 14 digs, respectively and junior Brianne Keane made 17 assists. Senior Kirsten Florio had 8 kills, 13 points, and 3 aces, junior Jillian Graver recorded 7 kills, Keane had 5 points, and Graver and senior Kaeli Butters each had 5 points and an ace.
The JV Hornets kept their perfect season alive with a 2-0 (25-8, 25-13) win to improve to 15-0.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 9-6. The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 6 at Athens.
