The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team tied Towanda 1-1 on Tuesday, October 4.
After a first half goal by Towanda's Teagan Willey with 5:09 remaining, senior Kelsey Logan scored her first goal of the season, after missing much of the year due to injury, with 28:38 to go in the second half to tie it up. Neither team scored to end regulation, and neither team scored in either of the two overtime periods, ending the game in a draw.
Wellsboro's offense mustered 14 shots on goal, compared to Towanda's 12, and edged Towanda 6-1 in corner kicks. Of Towanda's 12 shots on goal, junior Kailee Clymer made 11 saves in 100 minutes on the night.
In the JV game, freshman Savana Baltzley scored 2 goals to give the Lady Hornets a 2-1 win over Towanda.
The Lady Hornets' find themselves with a 4-7-1 record (4-3-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 6 at Troy.
