The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team had their three-game win streak snapped in a 1-0 loss to Lakeland on Saturday, September 24.
The entire first half was a scoreless tie, but Lakeland's Aleah Snedeker scored the game's only goal just over a minute into the second half.
Wellsboro outshot Lakeland 10-8 and Lakeland edged Wellsboro in corners, 4-3. Sophomore Luna Alexander and senior MaKenna Johnson each took 3 shots on goal, junior Kailee Clymer took 2, and Emma Poirier and junior Kaitlyne Kramer each took 1. Clymer made 7 saves in 90 minutes in goal on the afternoon.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 4-5 (4-2 NTL). The team will be back in action on Monday, September 26 against Athens.
