Benton field hockey tops Milton, 8-2

Benton scored 4 first half goals to beat Milton 8-2 on Thursday, September 21.

Kendall LeValley scored twice in the first half, once at 29:24 and right before the half ended. Mackenzie Sweeney scored at 22:14 and Kallie Koch scored in between Kendall LeValley's goals. Koch, Heather Nichols, and Bailey Steinruck all added first half assists.

Milton's Mikayla Lloyd scored with 18:25 remaining in the game to cut it to 4-1 but Sweeney answered back three minutes later to push it back to 5-1. Lloyd found the back of the goal for a second time with 13:35 to cut it to 5-2, but three Benton goals, two by Rylee LeValley and one by Heather Nichols, closed out the game.

Benton's Nikki Damante made 3 saves while Larissa Shearer made 19 for Milton.

Lewisburg 1, Mifflinburg 0

Lindsay Starr scored the game-winning goal on a Cassie West assist with 14 minutes left in the first half and the Green Dragons held on the rest of the way for the win.

Lewisburg outshot Mifflinburg 9-4 and had a 5-2 advantage in penalty corners. Kerstin Koons saved 4 shots for the Green Dragons.

Midd-West 4, Shikellamy 1

Beth Wagner and Brenna Brown both scored two goals each to lead the Mustangs past the Braves Thursday during Senior Night.

Wagner scored her first goal at 19:25 in the first half to put Midd-West up 1-0. The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Mustangs until Wagner and Brown scored the remaining three goals in the second half.

Rebekah Amerman scored Shik's lone goal.

Midd-West outshot Shikellamy 20-8 and had a 13-5 advantage in penalty corners. Nicci Piccioni made 7 saves for the Mustangs while the Braves stopped 16 shots.
