The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team suffered a 72-4 loss to Wyalusing on Wednesday, January 18.
The Hornets won one contest on the night as senior Caleb Sinkler scored a 12-0 major decision over Derek Frederick at 145 lbs. Wyalusing won forfeits at 126, 138, 160, 170, 182, 106, 113, and 120 lbs.
Wyalusing's Luke Yonkin pinned freshman Connor Ramsey in 1:25 at 132 lbs., Josh Haley won a 23-7 tech fall in 3:39 over sophomore Jared Moreno at 152 lbs., Michael Wilcox defeated sophomore Hunter Brown by 9-0 major decision at 195 lbs., Cody Tunnicliff won a 3-1 decision over senior Kaleb Smith at 220 lbs., and Dawson Otis pinned sophomore Robert Brown in 1:21 at 285 lbs.
The loss drops the Hornets to 3-11 (1-6 NTL). The team is back in action tonight as they host rival North Penn-Liberty.
