The Wellsboro Cross Country teams each swept Towanda and Sayre on Tuesday, October 3.
"Another great effort by the team today," said head coach Ron Brought. "We had strong times and winning results by running with a pack mentality."
In the boys race Wellsboro beat Sayre 15-50 and Towanda 24-32. Towanda also won 15-50 against Sayre.
Junior Aidan Perry won in 17:55 followed by senior Connor Brought (18:00) in 2nd and junior Bergen Weiner (18:20) in 3rd. Junior Zack Busch (19:45) was 7th, sophomore Lucas Citrino (21:13) was 12th, senior Logan Morral (21:31) was 14th, junior Taylor Wheeler (22:30) was 17th, freshman Aidan Fletcher (23:03) was 18th, freshman Daniel Swanson (27:48) was 20th, sophomore Tyren Wetzel (28:11) was 21st, and senior Noah Smith (33:09) was 22nd.
In the girls race Wellsboro beat Sayre 24-36 and Towanda 17-44. Sayre also beat Towanda 21-34.
Senior Anna Bleggi finished 2nd overall in 23:25, sophomore Kylie Butler (24:04) was 4th, junior Kara Doane (24:05) was 5th, junior Rachel Chamberlain (24:30) was 6th, freshman Aislinn Hoose (26:03) was 9th, sophomore Alex Chilson (26:26) was 10th, and freshman Alexis Banik (26:41) was 12th.
In the Middle School race, Madeline Gage was the top girls finisher in 3rd in 12:54 while Aidan Coffee ran 14:27 to take the top spot for the boys.
The wins improve the boys team to 5-3 (5-3 NTL) and the girs to 6-2 (6-2 NTL). Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday, October 10 against North Penn-Mansfield and Cowanesque Valley in Westfield.
