The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team's woes continued in a 3-0 loss to Wyalusing on Thursday, September 21.
Wyalusing won the first set 25-20. The Lady Hornets made a run in the second set, and almost won, but Wyalusing pulled it out 26-24, then the Lady Rams won the third 25-14 to send Wellsboro home with their second straight loss.
Senior Hannah Burnett led Wellsboro with 14 digs and senior Cheyenne Sherman pitched in with 12 digs, 5 points, and 4 kills. Senior Jillian Graver recorded 6 points and 4 kills, sophomore Megan Starkweather had 5 kills, junior Heidi Zuchowski had 5 points, sophomore Caitlyn Callahan had 2 blocks, and senior Brianne Keane had a block and 14 assists.
Wellsboro won the JV game 2-0 (25-11, 25-18) to improve to 7-1.
The loss drops the Varsity team to 6-2 (4-2 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Monday, September 25 at Galeton.
