Lewisburg boys, girls earn four PHAC XC wins

The Lewisburg boys and girls cross country teams swept their PHAC meets against Bloomsburg, Mount Carmel, Shikellamy, and Williamsport on Tuesday, September 12.

Bloomsburg/Lewisburg/Mount Carmel/Williamsport/Shikellamy Boys

MCA 15, Bloom 43; Shikellamy 15, Bloom 48; Lewisburg 15, Bloom 50; Williamsport 17, Bloom 46; Lewisburg 20, Williamsport 41; Lewisburg 22, MCA 33; Shikellamy 22, Williamsport 34; MCA 27, Shikellamy 28; Lewisburg 26, Shikellamy 31; MCA 22, Williamsport 33

Williamsport's Tyler Holcomb gave the Millionaires a 1st place finish in 17:17. Shikellamy's Logan Strouse (17:50) was 2nd, Lewisburg's Jason Stanko (17:55) was 3rd, Mount Carmel's Tyler Adams (17:55) was 4th, and Lewisburg's Calvin Baily (18:03) was 5th. Bloomsburg's Matt Lee (20:00) finished 22nd for the Panthers.

Lewisburg 15, Bloom 50; Lewisburg 15, MCA 50; Williamsport 17, Bloom 46; Williamsport 19, MCA 41; MCA 22, Bloom 36; Lewisburg 23, Williamsport 37; Bloom 24, Shikellamy 34; MCA 20, Shikellamy 41; Williamsport 17, Shikellamy 46; Lewisburg 15, Shikellamy 50

Williamsport's Mary McMahon (20:33) finished 1st, Lewisburg's Delaney Humphrey (20:50) and Laurie Micaels (21:01) were 2nd and 3rd, Williamsport's Lydia Smith (21:24) was 4th, and Lewisburg's Hannah Marshani (22:27) was 5th. Bloomsburg's Mina Schneck finished 11th in 23:16.

NEB/Sayre/North Penn-Mansfield Boys

NEB 15, Sayre 50; NPM 15, Sayre 50; NEB 20, NPM 43

North Penn's Blake Nelson ran a 17:38 for a 1st place finish. Northeast Bradford's Destin Moore (18:21), Zach Smith (18:32), Nate Mosier (18:58), and Aaron Boss (19:05) finished out the top 5. North Penn's Jacob Green (20:01) was the second highest finisher for the Tigers while Sayre's Joshua McClelland (20:10) was 10th to lead the Redskins.

NEB/Sayre/North Penn-Mansfield Girls

NEB 22, Sayre 37; NPM 21, Sayre 39, NPM 24, NEB 33

NEB's Karli Moyer was the class of the field, finishing 1st in 21:29. North Penn's Emma Harris (22:54) was 2nd, Sayre's Carrie Claypool (23:42) was 3rd, NEB's Megan Allbaugh (23:59) was 4th, and North Penn's Carmen Bates (24:42) was 5th.

Wellsboro/Athens/Wyalusing Boys

Wellsboro 19, Athens 36; Wyalusing 27, Wellsboro 28; Wyalusing 21, Athens 34

The Rams' Kevin Heeman won on the Hornets' course with an 18:44, followed by teammate Alex Patton in 2nd (18:45), Wellsboro's Aidan Perry was 3rd at 18:46, Wellsboro's Connor Brought (20:03) was 4th, and the Rams' Logan Newton (20:08) was 5th.

Wellsboro/Athens/Wyalusing Girls

Athens 23, Wellsboro 32; Athens 23, Wyalusing 32; Wellsboro 23, Wyalusing 32

Wellsboro's Anna Bleggi won the girls race in 24:39, Athens' Emily Arnold (25:01) was 2nd, Wyalusing's Catherine Brown (25:59) was 3rd, Athens' Selkie Bishop (26:56) was 4th, and Athens' Caitlyn Powell (26:59) rounded out the top 5.

CV/Troy/Sullivan County Boys

Troy 18, Sullivan 39; Troy 22, CV 34; CV 25, Sullivan 33

CV's Madden Doud took home a 1st place finish for the Indians in 19:31. Troy's Kale Weidner (19:49) and Owen Williams (19:51) were 2nd and 3rd, Sullivan County's Jake Doyle (20:48) was 4th, and Troy's Jacob Brown (20:50) was 5th.

CV/Troy/Sullivan County Girls

Troy 15, Sullivan 50; Troy 20, CV 43; CV 15, Sullivan 50

CV's Jules Jones beat out 5 Lady Trojans with a time 22:22 for a first place finish. Troy's Courtney Case (24:37) was 2nd, MaKenzie Bellinger (24:59) was 3rd, Brooke Hinman (25:25) was 4th, and Katherine Polakowski (25:31) was 5th. Troy took spots 6-11, CV's Claire Miller (27:20) was 12th for CV, and Sullivan County's Macrina Pochatko (29:40) finished 15th for the Lady Griffins.

Northeast Bradford, Troy, and Wyalusing boys start the season 2-0; North Penn-Mansfield, CV, and Wellsboro are 1-1; and Sullivan County, Athens, and Sayre are 0-2.

Athens, North Penn-Mansfield, and Troy girls are 2-0; CV, Wellsboro, and Northeast Bradford are 1-1; and Wyalusing, Sayre, and Sullivan County are 0-2.
