Lourdes and Selinsgrove boys, Lewisburg girls win district golf championships

The Lourdes Regional and Selinsgrove boys and Lewisburg girls took home team championships at day one of the District IV Golf Tournament at Williamsport Country Club on Thursday, October 5.
In the AA boys match, Lourdes and Northern Tioga both shot team scores of 345 but Lourdes won by tiebreaker to claim the team title. Lewisburg's girls shot 377 to win the AA girls crown, and Selinsgrove beat Shikellamy 376-407 to win the AAA boys title.
Rounding out the rest of the AA boys field was Wellsboro (351) in 3rd, Benton (352) in 4th, Midd-West (358) in 5th, Danville (367) in 6th, Central Columbia (376) in 7th, Sayre (400) in 8th, Lewisburg (402) in 9th, East Juniata (403) in 10th, and Montgomery/Muncy (404) in 11th.
Northern Tioga's Tanner Adriance led after day one with a round of 75 followed by Wellsboro's Ben Barnett in 2nd with a 76. Lourdes' Evan Salamone and Northern Tioga's Austin Outman tied for 3rd with round of 78, and Sayre's Ryan Murrelle rounded out the top 5 with an 80.
23 AA boys golfers will advance to day two of the competition.
In the AA girls match, Bloomsburg's Morgan Sohosky shot a 75 to take 1st, Lourdes' Selina Albert (95) was 2nd, Towanda's Kourtney Dunn (97) was 3rd, Benton's Sarah Sorber (100) was 4th, and Lewisburg's Tori Omlor (117), Ryleigh Faust (121), and Brynna Rutz (139) were 5th-7th. All girls will advance to day two of the competition.
In the AAA boys match, Williamsport's Derek Lewis took the top spot with a round of 82, Selinsgrove's Roman Reeder (83) was 2nd, Athens' Nate Kennedy (84) was 3rd, Loyalsock's Mitch Klingerman (88) was 4th, and Shikellamy's Brian Snyder (90) rounded out the top 5.
8 AAA boys golfers will advance to day two of the competition.
Day two of the District IV Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, October 7 back at Williamsport Country Club with a 10:00 a.m. start.
