Midd-West shuts out Warrior Run, 9-0

Brenna Brown scored six goals in the Mustangs' 9-0 win over Warrior Run on Thursday, September 28.

Brown scored four times in the first half starting at 28:24 on an assist from Beth Wagner. Brown then scored at 21:40, 16:11, and 14:48. Jaylynn Blair on an assist from Brown scored at 19:06 to put Midd-West up 5-0 at the half.

Brown picked up where she left in the second with goals at 24:19, and 3:32. Mariah Stuck and Lynsey Fultz added the remaining second half goals for Midd-West. Breeann Sheaffer, Stuck, Erikah Sassaman, and Julia Nesbit all assisted on goals during the game.

The Mustangs outshot Warrior Run 29-1 and had 14 penalty corners to the Defenders' 1. Nicci Piccioni made 1 save in goal for Midd-West while Warrior Run saved 22 shots.

Greenwood 9, East Juniata 0

Greenwood scored six first half goals to pick up a shutout over the Tigers on Thursday afternoon. Greenwood outshot EJ 28-3 and had 17 penalty corners to EJ's 3. Kelsey Sheaffer made 3 saves for Greenwood while Madison Dresler (5) and Madison Beward (14) combined for 19 for EJ.

"The girls played good, but I know the girls can play better," said EJ coach Harley Straub. "They did some things well, and we learned what we need to work on. We will regroup this weekend and come back ready to play and looking for a win on Monday."

EJ is back in action on Monday, October 2 at Juniata College's Knox Field against Huntingdon at 8:00 p.m.
