Milton, Mifflinburg, and Wellsboro boys soccer teams earned victories by shutout on Monday, September 18.
The Black Panthers scored their only goal in a 1-0 shutout against Jersey Shore in the first half as Alex Yoder assisted Tyler Leeser then hung on the rest of the way for the win. Milton's Colton Loreman made 8 saves in goal while Shore's Calvin Lesser recorded 5.
The Braves scored 3 first half goals from Aiden Cooper en route to a PHAC victory Monday. In the second half David Rangel scored at 41:31, Carlos Sevilla at 46:19, Kyler Balliet at 53:44, and Miles Mogush at 76:38.
Shamokin had 4 shots, 12 keeper saves by Hunter Bates, 1 corner kick, and 9 free kicks. Shikellamy had 19 shots, 3 keeper saves, 9 corner kicks, and 1 free kick.
Shamokin returns in action to play at Lewisburg today.
Juniata scored 3 goals in each half in their win over Line Mountain Monday. The Eagles were held to two shots on goal, one each by Damien and Phil Phillips. Teagon Hepworth made 13 saves in goal.
The Green Hornets scored 10 first half goals to pick up their 6th win of the year. Brett Rudy and Tanner Runyan both had hat tricks on the night, Noah Fitch, Kaeden Mann, Holden Kennedy, and Johnny Rowland added the remaining goals. Gabe Leach, Rudy, and Joseph Grab added assists.
Wellsboro outshot Coudersport 41-11 and won the corner kick battle, 6-1. Wellsboro's Nate Redell made 11 saves in goal while Rozalyn Page had 12 for Coudersport.
Mifflinburg outshot EJ 13-3. Mifflinburg’s Mason Novobilski scored 2 goals on the night, one coming on a penalty kick. Levi Hauger scored Mifflinburg's third goal.
NEB took 21 shots on goal and had 19 corners in the shutout victory Monday. Karissa Cowles, Hannah Shadduck, Kara Brown, and Erika Vough scored goals for the Lady Panthers while Josie Haverly, McKenzie Johnson, and Abby Goble registered assists.
EJ scored their first goal with 10 minutes remaining in the first half before exploding for 7 second half goals.
"We couldn't put away our chances in the first half," said coach Valeria Dressler. "The girls came out second half ready to play and win. It's great to see the passion the girls had to do well."
Carly Beaver scored in the first half on an assist from Eleana Benner. In the second, Thea Neimond, Hailey Swartz (2), Paige Crissman, Odessa Groniger, and Leah Sankey all scored while Benner, Neimond, and Maddison Coudriet all earned assist.
EJ took 28 shots on goal and had 5 corner kicks. Sankey made 1 save in goal.
The Lady Mustangs scored two second half goals to shutout the Lady Millionaires. Kelli Beiler recorded a hat trick on the afternoon, scoring all 3 goals with her last coming on a penalty kick with 2:35 remaining. Lyndsey Schenck recorded two assists.
Midd-West took 12 shots on goal and help Williamsport to just 1. Midd-West also had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
"Our defense had a great night, and was extremely organized," said head coach Lance Burris. "We knew that Williamsport was going to be a tough game coming in undefeated in league play so we were excited to get the win and the shutout. I thought our rookies Ava Gemberling and Arianna Rich had tremendous games, and our ability to win the restart game was extremely important."
Sayre and Mansfield went to overtime on Monday with the Lady Redskins coming out on top. Sayre's Madisyn Wheeler scored to put the Lady Redskins on the board first with 38:27 remaining in the first. Mansfield's Brooke Knecht tied it up at 1-1 with 32:07 left in the second.
No one scored the final 32 minutes of regulation to force overtime. Sayre's Abby Moliski scored the game winner on an assist from Stephanie Klovekorn for the win.
Sayre outshot Mansfield 26-12 but Mansfield egded the Lady Redskins 6-4 in corner kicks. Sayre's Camry Lane recorded 6 saves in goal while Mansfield's Alaina McKee saved 14 shots.
The Lady Griffins' Macy McCarthy recorded a hat trick in their win Monday. Sophia Springman scored the other goal while Bethany Beinlich, Jaeden Patson, and Springman all recorded assists. McKenna Amer made 11 saves in goal.
Trailing 1-0 the Lady Eagles tied it up on a Morgan Keim goal with 2:03 remaining. Abigail Liddick put Susquenita back in front with 18:24 remaining in the second. Line Mountain's Autumn Czaplicki tied it back up at 2-2 with 9:27 remaining.
Neither team scored the remainder of the second to send the game to overtime, where Czaplicki scored the game-winner.
Czaplicki also made 3 saves in goal.
