Piccioni among NFHCA High School Bi-Weekly Awards winners

Midd-West's Nicole Piccioni was recently listed on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) High School Bi-Weekly Awards.
Piccioni, a senior, was the only District IV athlete in the Pennsylvania region. Piccioni has stopped 30 of 33 shots on goal through the first two games of the season for Midd-West. After making seven saves in a 4-2 win over East Juniata on September 6, she came back two days later and made 23 saves to keep her team in the game in a 1-0 overtime loss to Selinsgrove, which has won its conference in seven of the last eight years.
"Nicci is a three year varsity starter and two year captain," said Midd-West head coach Jodie Sheaffer. "She has proven herself time and time again over the years. I am so thankful that all her hard work and dedication is finally being recognized. I could not be prouder the of the leader and player she has become. She is 'the wall' and she continues to make me proud not only on the field but also academically."
