Shamokin, Liberty pick up volleyball wins

Shamokin and North Penn-Liberty picked up volleyball wins on Monday, September 11.
Shamokin 3, Minersville 0
Shamokin won 25-18, 25-20, 25-11. Barb jJemmot had 5 kills, 5 digs, and 2 aces; Sierra Burd had 5 kills and 4 digs; and Kamilyah Nazih made 4 kills and 2 aces.
Shamokin also won the JV game 2-1 (16-25, 25-12, 15-10).
North Penn-Liberty 3, Towanda 0
Liberty picked up the sweep over NTL Large School Division counterpart Towanda on Monday. JoAnne McNamara had 16 assists and 11 points for Liberty. Brooke Harvey scored 11 points, Maddison Minyo made 11 kills, Charisma Grega had 9 points and 8 kills, and Mariah Kshir had 8 assists and 7 points.
Kinsley Mosier scored 6 points for Towanda while Madigan Allen had 7 kills, and Hannah Chandler made 7 digs. Justine Vargason had 16 digs and Sydney Schoonover blocked 8 kill attempts.
