Two Sullivan County players recorded hat tricks in the Lady Griffins' 10-3 win over Wyalusing on Thursday, Septebmer 14.
Macy McCarthy scored 4 goals and had 1 assist and Madison Burke had a hat trick. Sophia Springman netted 2 goals and Bethany Beinlich scored 1 goal and added 3 assists. Kyleigh Ammerman, Stefanie Kramer, and Savannah Baldwin also added one assist each. Wyalusing got two goals from Sarah Bird and one from Marissa Kusmierz.
Sullivan County's McKenna Ammer made 6 saves and Samantha Skoranski made 4.
The Ironmen's lone goal came with 36:26 remaining in the first half from Andre Bucalaiu. Danville's Braeden Eckard made 1 save and Milton's Colton Loreman stopped 12 shots.
The Hornets scored 8 first half goals in their 4th win of the season. Kaeden Mann had his first career hat trick, Noah Fitch and Tanner Runyan both scored twice, and Gabe Leach, Cam Tennis, Conrad Becker, and Johnny Rowland all added single goals. Mann, Runyan (2), Devin Webster, Leach (4), and Becker all had assists.
Wellsboro's Nate Redell made 3 saves and Sayre's Camden Wheeler had 16 saves.
The Wildcats scored 11 second half goals in their NTL win on Thursday afternoon. Ethan Lane, Willey Tilley, David Sheftic, and Doug Vosburg all scored in the first half to make it 4-0 at the break. Liberty's Luke Yoder scored at 29:42 of the second half on a Nathaniel Johnson assist to cut into the score, but the Wildcats took over and put the game out of reach.
Sheftic, Ethan Lane, Gavin Stein, Arvid Johnson, Nathan Aquilio, Tilley, and Aaron Lane all scored for Athens in the second half.
Liberty's Riley Walker stopped 12 shots and Athens' Braden Priester made 1 save.
"A loss is a loss but the guys actually played very well," said head coach Mark Davis. "Last year this team was beating us something like 9-0 at the half and put in the jv team half way through the second half. Everyone played hard and worked together great. So yes its a loss but I feel great with how we played against a great team."
Jake Foulds (3), Justin Scott and Phil Phillips all attempted shots and Damien Moore saved 16 of 22 shots on goal in the loss.
Hughesville broke a scoreless first half tie with 2:22 remaining as Justus Leighow scored unassisted, but Central Columbia scored 4 unanswered goals for the win. Jesse Wendell tied it a 34:14, Brendan Gregory scored at 25:41 to put the Bluejays in front, then Alan Krug scored at 11:06 and 1:55. Wendell assisted on all three goals.
Central Columbia's Gabe Durragh made 4 saves in goal and Steven Millheim made 9 for the Spartans.
The Spartans fall to 3-2.
The Mustangs improved to 7-0 on the year by holding the Lancers shotless on Thursday. Midd-West scored 4 times in the first half on goals from Carter Knepp, Cole Sauer, Dylan Gordon, and Devan Leister. The Mustangs then exploded for 9 second half goals to run away with the game. Evan Eppley, Knepp, Logan Shoemaker, Canyon Zeigler, Stefan Leitzel, Keenan Dietz, Dominic Abate, Connor Erdley, and Hunter Gilbert all scored in the second half. Abate, Erdley, and Gilbert all scored on penalty kicks.
Midd-West took 27 shots and had 7 corner kicks.
Connor Rude made 9 saves for Loyalsock.
The Millionaires scored 8 first half goals in their win Thursday afternoon. Shamokin had 2 shots, 7 keeper saves from Hunter Bates, 1 corner, and 10 free kicks. Williamsport had 18 shots, 1 keeper save, 6 corners, and 7 free kicks.
Shamokin plays next on Saturday, September 16 against Nativity at home.
