Wyalusing remained perfect and improved to 7-0 by sweeping Wellsboro 3-0 on Thursday, September 21.
Wyalusing won the first set 25-20. The Lady Hornets made a run in the second set, and almost won, but Wyalusing pulled it out 26-24, then the Lady Rams won the third 25-14 to send Wellsboro home with their second straight loss.
Karlye Huffman lead Wyalusing with 25 assists, Lylah Oswald had 4 kills, Melody Kneller made 17 kills and 6 aces, and Kristie Epler recorded 25 digs.
Hannah Burnett led Wellsboro with 14 digs and Cheyenne Sherman pitched in with 12 digs, 5 points, and 4 kills. Jillian Graver recorded 6 points and 4 kills, Megan Starkweather had 5 kills, Heidi Zuchowski had 5 points, Caitlyn Callahan had 2 blocks, and Brianne Keane had a block and 14 assists.
Wellsboro won the JV game 2-0 (25-11, 25-18) to improve to 7-1.
Troy needed all 5 sets to top Towanda on Thursday. Troy won the first 25-16, Towanda won set two 25-19, and Troy won 25-18 in the third to force a fourth set. Towanda won the fourth 25-13 to stay alive and force a fifth set, which Troy won 15-5.
Cassie Shedden lead Troy with 18 points, 9 aces, 20 assists, 11 kills, 1 block, and 12 digs; Emilie Cole had 13 points, 3 aces, 12 kills, 2 blocks, and 15 digs; Gabby Bohner had 7 points, 2 aces, and 10 digs; Caitlyn Hoffmann had 6 points, 5 aces, 6 kills, 2 blocks, and 3 digs; Caitlin DeLosa had 5 points, 14 kills, and 16 digs; and Breana Millard had 4 points, 1 ace, 3 kills, and 4 digs.
Madi Doss had 16 points, 35 digs, and 11 assists for Towanda. Justine Vargason had 13 digs, 8 assists, and 9 points; Reigan Hill had 29 digs; Zoe Czajkowski had 12 points and 18 digs; Blaire Wood had 8 kills; Sydney Schoonover had 10 kills and 9 blocks; and Rachael Bair had 7 digs.
Troy won the JV game 2-1 (21-25, 25-23, 16-14).
Liberty improved to 8-0 with a three set sweep of Athens on Thursday.
Brooke Harvey had 3 aces, 14 points, 5 kills, 6 receptions, and 9 digs; Charisma Grega added 2 aces, 6 poiints, 10 kills, 8 receptions, and 2 digs; Mariah Kshir recorded 9 points, 3 aces, 5 kills, 8 assists, and 4 digs; Maddison Minyo ended with 16 points, 2 aces, and 6 kills; JoAnne McNamara had 16 assists, 1 kill, and 2 digs; Savannah Doney had 2 aces, 6 points, 9 receptions, and 2 digs; and Elli Fry had 3 blocks, 2 kills, 2 digs, and 1 assist.
