The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team captured their sixth straight win on Tuesday, September 18 as they swept Cowanesque Valley, 3-0.
The Lady Hornets took the first set 25-16, edged CV 25-20 in the second set, then won 25-16 again in the third set for the sweep.
Junior Caitlyn Callahan had 16 points (5 aces), 11 kills, and 3 blocks; junior Megan Starkweather recorded 15 assists, 5 kills, 7 points, and 3 aces; sophomore Shiloh Duff had 7 kills, and 6 blocks; and sophomore Breighanna Kemp had 13 assists. Junior Ryann Adams had 14 digs, 12 points, and 3 aces and sophomore Bailey Monks had 3 blocks.
In the JV game CV won 2-1 (12-25, 25-12, 15-7) to hand the Lady Hornets their second straight loss and drop them to 4-2 on the year.
The Varsity team's win improved the Lady Hornets to 6-0 (5-0 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 20 at home against Athens.
