Hornet boys, Williamson girls win NTL Tri-Meet

The Wellsboro Boys Track team took home a 1st place finish while the Williamson girls won in an NTL Tri-Meet at Wellsboro on Tuesday, May 7.

Wellsboro edged Williamson 77.5 to 75.5 to win the boys meet with North Penn-Mansfield coming home 3rd with 36 points. The Williamson girls won with 91 points, followed by Wellsboro with 58 and North Penn-Mansfield with 35.

For the boys senior Brett Rudy (11.68) and junior Silas Wagaman (11.78) took the top 2 spots in the 100m, senior Cam Tennis (23.39) and Rudy (24.16) were 1st and 2nd in the 200m, senior Andrew Brelo (57.94) was 3rd in the 400m with sophomore Aidan Fletcher (58.37) in 5th, senior Aidan Perry (2:29.65) was 6th in the 800m, senior Bergen Weiner (5:15.5) was 3rd in the 1600m, sophomore Tylar Wright (12:48.18) was 5th in the 3200m with freshman Gabe Guignard (13:36.77) was 6th, junior Alex Burrell (17.74) and sophomore Evan Hoover (18.23) were 2nd and 3rd in the 110m hurdles, and junior Brennan Warner (43.89) won the 300m hurdles.

The Hornets won the 4x100m relay (45.5), 3rd in the 4x400m relay (3:52.21), and 2nd in the 4x800m relay (9:39.84).

Junior Frank Kewitt (5-ft, 6) and senior Holden Kennedy (5-ft, 6) were 1st and 2nd in the high jump, sophomore Anthony Romania (8-ft) tied for 2nd in the pole vault with junior Derrick Bolt (7-ft, 6) in 4th, Rudy (17-ft, 5.5) was 3rd in the long jump with junior Karter Witmer (17-ft, 3) in 5th, and Kewitt (37-ft, 1) won the triple jump with Witmer (35-ft, 10) in 3rd and Kennedy (33-ft, 9) in 4th.

Senior Hunter Brown (37-ft, 1.5) was 3rd in the shot put, 1st in the discus (132-ft, 3.5), and junior Austin Richards (142-ft, 8) won the javelin with Witmer (120-ft, 10) and Brown (115-ft, 3) in 3rd and 4th.

For the girls junior Caitlyn Callahan (13.83) was 3rd in the 100m, junior Lauren Singer (29.68) was 5th in the 200m, junior Savana Baltzley (1:07.61) was 2nd in the 400m with sophomore Alexis Banik (1:10.86) in 4th, senior Elizabeth Macias (2:55.29) was 3rd in the 800m, freshman Madeline Bryant (6:41.14) was 5th in the 1600m and 2nd in the 3200m (14:21.78), senior Zoe Iseri (19.13) was 2nd in the 100m hurdles, sophomore Madelyn Rudy (56.66) was 4th in the 300m hurdles with Iseri (58.64) in 5th.

Wellsboro won the 4x100m relay (53.68) and was 2nd in both the 4x400m (4:42.48) and the 4x800m (12:14.69).

Freshman Lilly Abadi (4-ft, 6) and Sara Abadi (4-ft, 4) and sophomore Skylar Runyan (4-ft, 4) were 2nd-4th in the high jump, senior Dahlia Hosey (15-ft, 3.25) and junior Megan Starkweather (14-ft, 4.5) were 2nd and 3rd in the long jump, and Hosey (33-ft, 7) and Callahan (32-ft, 3.5) swept the triple jump.

Junior Nina Coolidge (25-ft, 3) and sophomore Kiyah Boyce (22-ft, 8) were 2nd and 4th in the shot put, Boyce (70-ft, 7), Coolidge (60-ft, 8.5), and sophomore Sophia Kurtz (59-ft, 7.5) were 3rd-5th in the discus, and Singer (87-ft, 7), freshman Emma Coolidge (87-ft), and sophomore Breighanna Kemp (76-ft, 5) were 2nd-4th in the javelin.

The Hornets are back on the track at the NTL Championships on Friday, May 10 at Athens.
