The Wellsboro Boys Track team tied for 4th with Athens at the NTL Track Championships at Athens on Friday, May 10.
Both the Hornets and Wildcats finished with 96 team points. Towanda won with 136 followed by Wyalusing (122.5), Troy (99), Athens, Wellsboro, Williamson (54.5), North Penn-Mansfield (34), Canton (27), Northeast Bradford (23), and Sayre (13).
Senior Brett Rudy (11.46) was 3rd in the 100m followed by junior Silas Wagaman (11.59) in 6th and sophomore Joseph Grab (11.6) in 7th, senior Cam Tennis (23.68) was 2nd in the 200m with Rudy (24.05) in 8th, Tennis won the 400m (51.5), junior Austin Richards (5:02.6) was 10th in the 1600m, junior Alex Burrell (17.2) was 5th in the 110m hurdles, and junior Brennan Warner (43.8) was 4th in the 300m hurdles.
The Hornets were 2nd in the 4x100m (44.5), were 9th in the 4x400m (3:51.1), and were 5th in the 4x800m relay (9:22.9).
Junior Frank Kewitt (5-ft, 10) was 2nd in the high jump, sophomore Anthony Romania (9-ft) was 3rd in the pole vault, Rudy (19-ft, 9) was 5th in the long jump, and Kewitt (39-ft, 0.5) was 3rd in the triple jump.
Senior Hunter Brown (124-ft, 2) was 6th in the discus, and Richards (148-ft, 11) won the javelin with Brown (135-ft, 10) finishing in 3rd.
The Hornets will be back in action at the PIAA District IV Championships at Williamsport Area High School on Thursday, May 16.
