The Williamsport Boys Tennis Team earned the title of 2019 District 2-4 AAA Team Champions on Tuesday, May 7 at Kirby Park for the second year in a row.
The second-seeded Millionaires defeated the number 1 seed Abington Heights 3-0 in the finals; the other two matches were halted when three matches were won. In the semi-finals the Millionaires had a 3-0 victory over the number 3 seed Scranton.
"After losing five of our starters and repeating this district title, I'm very proud of our team and for the progress they have made. I'm really proud of our number three singles player, Kyle Shuler, who at one point, thought he was not going to play tennis in high school. But in 8th grade, he was encouraged to play by his family and by me, and he's one of the best freshmen in our league," stated Williamsport head coach John Dorner.
