The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team was held to their lowest point total of the season in a 47-23 road loss to Coudersport on Tuesday, February 4.
"Coudersport was a very athletic and skilled group of girls," head coach Maureen Poirier said. "Their man to man defense gave us problems. At half we made a defensive adjustment and limited Coudy's scoring the second half. We were able to get good looks but just could not finish."
The Lady Hornets made just 9 shots from the floor the entire game and were held to under 10 points in each quarter.
Coudersport led 32-12 at halftime.
Senior Cathryn Brought led the Lady Hornets with 10 points, sophomore Emma Coolidge had 7 points, freshman Jordyn Abernathy added 4 points, and junior Bailey Monks chipped in with 2 points.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 7-10 (7-6 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action later this evening at Troy.
