The North Penn-Liberty Mounties faced off against the Sayre Redskins for a chance at the NTL Division II league title, something that North Penn-Liberty has not had for 29 years.
It was a slow start for the Mounties down by five in the first quarter 9-4. The second quarter the Mounties' offense manuevered with purpose and strategy through Sayre's defense, managing to gain a 1 point lead over the Redskins at halftime 18-17. Getting back into the game during the third quarter, the Mounties kept the Redskins at an arm's length, widening their newfound lead 36-26. The final quarter is where the energy of the Mounties took over as they swept up and down the court scoring points and making strong defensive plays.
As the buzzer went off, the North Penn-Liberty Mounties could celebrate two things; their 47-34 win over Sayre and the addition of the NTL Division II league title to their record.
