Selinsgrove field hockey rolls in league opener

SELINSGROVE - Jess Alba scored three goals, and Selinsgrove scored five unanswered goals to pull away from Southern Columbia, 7-1, in Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference-Division I field hockey action.
Leah Toskey scored twice for Selinsgrove; Sydney Schmouder chipped in a goal and two assists for Selinsgrove (2-0 overall, 1-0 HAC-1). Carly Aument also scored for the Seals. Hannah Day, Hannah Smullen and Lexi Freed added assists for Selinsgrove.
Through two games, the Seals have yet to allow a goal this season. Riley Batdorf and Lorna Temple - the Seals' two goalies - didn't have to make a save.
Selinsgrove led in shots (25-3) and corners (14-5).
