The Wellsboro Track & Field teams dropped a pair of meets to Towanda at Troy in their final regular season NTL meet on Monday, May 10.
On the boys side the Black Knights beat the Hornets 95-47. The Lady Hornets fell 108-41.
For the boys sophomore Jack Poirier (11.78) won the 100m and the 200m (24.64), senior Aidan Fletcher (1:00.06) was 6th in the 400m, and sophomore Sam Rudy (46.96) was 2nd in the 300m. Junior Justice Harlan (95-ft, 11) was 2nd in the discus and 2nd in the shot put (35-ft, 8.5), and 7th in the javelin (103-ft, 3). Poirier (18-ft, 11.5) was 2nd in the long jump, Rudy (35-ft, 8.5) was 4th in the triple jump, sophomore Kyle Mosher (4-ft, 8) was 3rd in the high jump, and sophomore Spencer Wetzel (9-ft) was 4th in the pole vault.
For the girls senior Kathryn Burnett (19.51) was 4th in the 100m hurdles, junior Hannah Morey (14.15) was 6th in the 100m, senior Aislinn Hoose (1:12.35) was 5th in the 400m and 2nd in the 800m (2:55.41), and sophomore Ella Posada (56.75) won the 300m hurdles. Senior Kiyah Boyce was 2nd in both the discus (72-ft, 8) and the shot put (27-ft, 1), and senior Alina Pietrzyk (78-ft, 2) was 2nd in the javelin. Senior Madelyn Rudy (13-ft, 4.5) was 7th in the long jump, Pietrzyk (29-ft) was 2nd in the triple jump, and junior Sara Abadi (4-ft, 2) was 3rd in the high jump.
Wellsboro was 3rd in all three relays.
Both teams finish the regular season with 6-5 (5-4 NTL) records. The teams will be back in action at the NTL Coaches Invite at Athens on Friday, May 14.
